There is always another side to the story, you see new perspectives and fresh ways of thinking. But, with a fresh way of thinking comes a new way of seeing. The people you knew mightn’t be who you thought them to be. Agent Kidman, fellow officer of KPD and our mystery character of The Evil Within, she came from a rough past hired by mobius to do their dirty work while keeping her in the dark on all the Intel given to them on Ruvik and Sebastian Castilianos. Kidman is one of those characters that is rough on the outside, but is a bundle of flowers on the inside…Ok pointy flowers….with barbed wire around them. Kidman is pulled into the system of mobius through not wanting to be alone, and the wanting to be a part of something bigger than herself. (At least that’s what I gathered.) I was very happy with how this DLC turned out. Allot of DLC’s don’t accurately continue how the story was intended to go. This DLC continues it from the perspective of Kidman, BUT in an organic flow which represents where she was when she was missing in action during parts of The Evil Within. In this DLC you get to know Kidman more, AND you get to know Ruvick more, from a human perspective which allows you to make of an informed decision on how you perceive the characters, which is a very nice touch. The controls are very similar to the main game for The Evil Within, the only major difference was that Kidman did not have any weapons that she could use. She could only use a weapon upon sneaking up on an enemy. Which gives more realism to her character since her only active attacks are melee attacks and some very bad punching… the only thing I was slightly irritated with was that this DLC was that it was only two chapters. On the flip side though, in the second DLC it starts off with chapter three. So in essence there are four chapters, you just have to pat an extra four dollars to finish the story, which from a marketing stand point I get, but I don’t understand what the two DLC’s weren’t just combined to make one full game. so did I enjoy this game? I did! Even though it was only two chapters long, it fit allot into it with the two chapters that you could play. To get the full story of Kidman, I would recommend getting both DLC’S so you can enjoy it and not be surprised that you aren’t getting more content. The story flowed seamlessly, the characters are more so explained in a human dynamic rather than just heroin and villain.
