Fallout respected the source material

From the drone shots to the cinematography, the first season and the final episode of Fallout are a special kind of acting and stories that convey a deep-rooted emotion in how it is communicated to the viewer. Survival is a common want that all humans share, and the wanting to connect with others. This is key for survival, and Fallout the TV show encapsulated the fear of losing that human connection in exchange for the need for survival. This show also displayed a true respect for the games and an accurate understanding of the story and its fans. The truth of it all... The final episode of the first season was emotionally gut-wrenching in every aspect. From seeing how the Ghoul got to be how he is, in an emotionally jaded sense toward humanity. to see the truth of Lucy's father to every character in this finale, bringing season one to a healthy, well-paced close. It's never easy learning the truth about someone, especially when being blinded is more comfortable than the knowledge that could be life-saving. It has been a constant theme throughout the show that comfortable ignorance is better than a harsh reality. it's been the case for the vault and for Lucy up until the end of the show. It felt like she was the only hopeful one who truly, unconditionally cared about those she knew and didn't know at all.

seeing the transformation of Maximus and the Ghoul throughout the show was truly incredible, going from point A where Maximus and The Ghoul were very similarly selfish in their needs, to point B where they both want not just what's best for them, but find answers with people who have the same motives. The acting of Walter Goggins was nothing short of incredible, he encapsulated the Ghouls from the games in both their humanity and sticktoitiveness that makes them unique, selfish, and still above all very human. To avoid as many spoilers as I can, I will say in closing that this show took my heart, bit into it, apologized, turned it into a Ghoul, slapped it, and then hugged it. I love what this show has done for Fallout fans and lovers of a good story. This is how you respect the source material, and this is how you respect a fanbase. Give them a good story, give them characters that mean something, and above all have a proper utilization of the source material that made the games what they were and gave them their soul.
