Home sweet hell Falloult episode 5 review

Traveling to the past can be an enjoyable or painful experience based on one's perception and experiences. Since lived experience is subjective, the reality of how a surrounding ACTUALLY is hits harder when you're sheltered (and told something different) from what is actually happening. In this episode of Fallout, Lucy has a major wake-up call seeing the world around here, and how for a while it was habitable. Maximus as a character is growing more and more, I just hope he doesn't fulfill his Sadist arch, that would be a twist that on the surface looks like a natural character progression, but is emotionally inconsistent with who he wants to be. He doesn't have to be the bad guy but is getting overwhelmed with the power he chose to wield. Coming home, or some variation of it... The home is where the heart is, of the dead carcass on the living room floor. In this episode of Fallout Maximus and Lucy team up and this is the iconic duo I've been WAITING to see together, in action, sharing stories, and shooting radroaches. I love how throughout the episode it goes from one high-paced moment to another from Maximus branding his squire to Lucy fully admitting she's naive to the world and all its disasters. Maximus lived through it, while Lucy was told a twisted version that served the purpose of the Fallout shelter. This episode was unique in that towards the end, Lucy's attempts at trying to convince cannibals to be civil shows how simple (in the best way) she is. She grew up with the mindset that nothing goes wrong, keep the golden rule, never be rude, and working hard will get you far in the "world". Coming to the surface was like Neo realizing the world was the Matrix, cruel, unforgiving, and oddly beautiful. Even Vault 33 is experiencing shifts, a breaking if you will in how its structure is being maintained. In the previous episode, Norm and Chet explored Vault 32 to find it to be riddled with corpses of those who had gone mad. In this episode the secrets were cleaned, the Vault looked prim, and the questions only got heavier. By the end of the episode, Lucy returned to her rose-colored heaven, Maximus looked concerned, and I was left wondering will this Vault be the answer to the problem or a place where our two heroes would have to escape limb cutting.
