Intro: Call of duty Modern Warfare 2 is a first-person shooter released October 28th, 2022. This campaign took me by surprise with its quick humor, invigorating plotline and mechanics that utilizes and takes full advantage of the PS5 hardware. With an in-depth roster of character that immerse you in the story of Modern Warfare 2, war bleeds from the hands of betrayed men and people fighting for what they think is right. While this game may just be another campaign to some, for someone such as myself who never plays Call of Duty and never actually played a Call of Duty campaign, this was an experience that was short sweet, and delivered with linear accuracy and shocking immersion. Ghost: It's no shock that ghost is the main attraction of this game, he carries the story with a flawless ease, and disturbing relaxation in his demeanor. In the previous version of this game Ghost is killed by Shepherd but is alive in this installment. I will admit, when diving into the lore of Ghost and Call of Duty in general it seemed like these games get a lot of heat and flack for all the wrong reasons. yes, some of the community is questionable in their behaviors, no community is filled with all angels. But when it comes to the story of Call of Duty especially as far as Ghost is concerned there is lore upon lore, and deep-rooted history in not only his character but the games stories before Ghost. As a newbie in this part of gaming, I was happily surprised at how rich and deep the story actually went, rather than just being all surface level. Combine that with brilliant realistic voice acting, and you have a campaign that truly delivers to its players. Hardware Utilized Correctly: This game takes things a step further when it comes to utilizing the hardware of the PS5 effectively and efficiently. The feeling of reloading the gun, the firing action of the gun, and the feeling of the terrain is all captured in the controller. The dual sense made the game feel more immersive, and created the perfect atmosphere to get drenched in.
The Ending Operation: This game by far is one of my biggest shocks of 2022 (besides loving Far Cry 6 as much as I did.) this game grabbed me from the first cut scene to the end credits. While there are some repetitive parts, they aren’t overly done. The story breaks up the repetitiveness with ease, and smooth transitions. Overall, this game is a must play for the campaign, I felt for the characters and yearned to know them and their story the more I played.
